Panthenol, sodium lactate and hyaluronic acid are examples of humectants.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b> Moisturize with emollients<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply emollient-rich moisturizers to lock in hydration. Jojoba oil, waxes and butters are effective occlusive ingredients, for example.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b> Strengthen the skin barrier<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An injured skin barrier is often a factor in dry skin so products that help to repair it can be very useful. Fatty acids like linoleic and alpha and gamma linolenic acids are helpful so look for carrier oils high in these. Avoid oleic acid which can damage the lipid barrier.
