For example for a 50g batch you would use 20g grapeseed oil, 15g jojoba oil, 7.45g olive squalane, 5g pomegranate oil, 2.5g carrot tissue oil, 0.05g vitamin E.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"s1\">3) Once all of the oils have been measured and added, gently mix the oils together until well blended.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"s1\">4) Decant the eye serum into glass dropper bottles and clearly label; it&#8217;s best to use either 15ml or 25ml sizes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading p1\">How to use the serum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Oil-based eye serums are an absolute delight for their powerful anti-aging benefits. <\/strong>Those who have used plant-based oils can certainly attest to their effectiveness in warding off eye wrinkles and toning the eye area.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span>However, a note from the wise here &#8211; less is more with oil-based eye products &#8211; be careful not to use too much &#8211; <i>one drop<\/i> is all that is required. Too much oil-based serum in the eye area may congest the delicate skin around the eye area, and actually counter the anti-inflammatory properties of eye serum, resulting in a puffy-looking eye area. If this occurs, discontinue use for a few days until inflammation has well subsided. You may then try the eye serum again if desired.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Apply one drop for both eyes<\/strong> \u2013 smooth onto fingers and lightly, gently pat eye area with fingers tips to distribute a small amount of serum only under the eye, and over top the eye over the brow bone.&nbsp; Body heat will allow the oil to further distribute over the eye area overnight. It is recommended only to use this eye serum at night, while the skin optimally repairs itself. Daytime use under cosmetics will likely cause smudging or movement of eye makeup. Careful not to get serum near the eye socket, as the serum may enter the eye. Flush eyes with water if contact occurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Shelf-life and storage<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"s1\">Most of the oils in this recipe (grape seed, jojoba and olive squalane) are quite stable with an extended shelf-life of two years or more. Pomegranate and carrot tissue oils offer shorter spans of only one year. The addition of Vitamin E to the product would normally extend the shelf-life of the product to 12+ months for this product, however because it is for the delicate and sensitive eye area &#8211; it is recommended to abide by a stricter expiry period of 6-12 months for the eye serum. Store in a cool, dry place.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>As this is an anhydrous (oil-based) product no preservative is needed.<\/strong> Do be&nbsp;careful not to contaminate the product with water or microbes from hand contact with the dropper tip.
